RS-232
and Hardware Flow-Control to Fiber Communications
SEL-2814 Fiber-Optic
Transceiver/Modem
5 Kilometer Port-Powered RS-232 to Fiber-Optic Modem
Use SEL-2814
fiber-optic transceivers to communicate up to 5 km over 50 or 62.5
mm multimode fiber. These compact transceivers mount directly to the
host device DB-9 RS-232 port and draw their power directly from the
data and control lines. Or, for devices that do not have control lines to provide power, use an external power source. For example, the SEL-9321 low-voltage dc power supply, or the 260-0601 ac adaptor.
