EIA-232 Serial
to Ethernet Transceiver
SEL-2890
EIA-232 to 10BASE-T Ethernet Transceiver/Modem
Use the SEL-2890
Serial to Ethernet Transceiver to convert serial EIA-232 connections
to 10BASE-T Ethernet. The SEL-2890 provides a method to connect
your existing EIA-232 serial devices to an Ethernet network.
With the SEL-2890, you can now communicate with a host serial
device via a Telnet session using an IP address. A web page can
be served from the SEL-2890, allowing the host device to be interfaced
with a standard browser such as Internet Explorer. For dedicated
point-to-point applications, use the serial tunneling feature
to create a virtual EIA-232 connection over an Ethernet network.
A built-in email client sends unsolicited messages via email
to a predetermined address.
