V-Pin
Benefits
of the V-Pin Termination System and HCS® 200 µm
Fiber
The HCS® 200 µm fiber and the V-Pin connector system offer high reliability, simple field installation, and together they make an excellent choice for utility and industrial communication applications. The V-pin connectors take less than two minutes per end to terminate because of the chemical and mechanical properties of the HCS fiber cladding. Terminate with an easy crimp and cleave process without messy epoxies, a curing oven, or time-consuming polishing.
Crimp and Cleave Termination Process
Made easy
with the T800 termination kit, the cable jacket
is stripped, crimped to the connector ferrule, and cleaved using a
specialized diamond cleave tool at the bare end of the fiber. This
process produces a high-quality endface with a completely mechanical
process, minimizing the impact of operator error.
Finished Cable Assemblies
SEL provides fiber-optic cable assemblies built with either zipcord
(FZ) or PVC-jacketed (FD) dual-fiber cable. FZ cables are standard-duty, low-cost,
duplex, flat zipcord. FZ cables should not be installed where they will
be exposed to direct sunlight. FD cables are high-strength, heavy-duty,
PVC-jacketed indoor/outdoor rated, dual-channel, round cable. Use the
part numbers in Table 5 to order finished cables built to your
specified length.
